Singer/songwriter and cabaret/jazz performer Marleah, a music and theater graduate from Columbia College, has become the latest fixture on the Chicago music scene, performing cabaret and adult contemporary music at such prestigious venues as Eastbank Club, Thirty-one Sixty, Volare, Spiagia and others. And with her first CD release of original songs Illguitarit Subway currently in the works, Marleah will show a different side of her talent, which has already drawn comparisons to first-rate artists such as Steve Nicks and Tori Amos, who happen to be two of her favorite writers and singers. Her versatility is further underlined through her vocal performances with the band Cubanessence (see Links), entertaining audiences with bossa and Afro-cuban salsa/rhumba rhythms. Also keep a lookout for her own band, which will begin touring the Chicagoland club circuit in the spring of 2009.
